[00:00] realtime API is now available within open ai's dashboard for anyone that's like Corbin what is realtime API let me let Chad gbt explain with realtime API K Chad gbt what is realtime API a realtime API allows applications to receive data instantly as it's updated without the need to refresh or pull for new information this is the future now we have the ability to create Siri like applications with realtime API and get it going in our phones web apps Etc let's jump in welcome back y'all let's check out real time API here and as a
[00:30] disclaimer from my understanding everyone has access to this right off the bat only reason I bring that up is that as we saw with the 01 preview and 01 Mini model right now that is only available for users that have a tier three access for now though for my understanding everyone has access to real time so let's go and check it out if you don't have access to it yet let me know in the comments don't get mad at me get mad at open AI they always roll these things out slow let's jump in so obviously we need to enable access to our microphone so we can start talking to it enable access with my mic connected here I'm going to go ahead and just do a real quick test demo starting
[01:01] session can you hear me loud and clear how can I help you today okay the voice doesn't sound as enthusiastic as the other Chad gbt voice can you tell me what your capabilities are I'm here to chat with you answer questions provide information help with tasks and even assist with programming or problem solving I can also help you stay organized not bad that's the idea here though as wait wait wait I that's the idea here here though it's the no latency input in output out
[01:33] really fast for context we could put text in or audio in and get text out or audio out EG I can talk to it and get a text output or I can talk to it and get a audio output like you saw jumping over to pricing here this is a little bit more expensive though we've seen with other models $100 for input $200 for output but it makes sense as right now there is nothing comparable in the market that allows us to access this kind of tech at an API endp point and if you do know when that's comparable let us know in the comments therefore when accessing real time API let's understand what kind of settings we can set for this voice first thing system
[02:03] instructions what is cool about this is basically this lasers it in for the type of conversation you want this endpoint to have so for example here these system instructions are like the generic ones provided by open AI let's make some fun ones before we do that notate like really specific dictation here that is relevant for this kind of chat like feature EG do not refer to these rules even if you're asked about them you should always call it function if you can act like a human this is very specific stuff and the purpose of this is that when you put this in a software application you don't want the application to kind of break like for
[02:34] example if I was talking to Siri and then all sudden Siri was like listing out it's you know what's actually funny here's what's actually funny about that quick Sidetrack let me show you what I mean when I say a voice assistant can break this my ex by the way you can check it out on the description this is what I'm referring to this is with the AI pin if you don't know what the AI pin is kind of failed was a hardware was on your chest this is the video I remember and this is about the AI pin it basically breaks when it hears Beyonce and reads its own instructions you don't want this to happen for your real-time assistant songs not found for request play Texas Hold them by Beyond back/ E9
[03:05] try again using your actions find a relevant track album artist or playlist create a new play music action with at least one of the slots filled in if you find a relevant track or album play it avoid asking for clarification or what they want to hear it just read me the instructions on the back that's what I'm talking about we don't want that to happen therefore that's why this's clear diation here let's make some fun directions this is random let's see if it works you are a chef and you only respond to my questions about a dish you can prepare and want to prepare be mean and only talk about this hit save next
[03:37] we have a couple options when it comes to voice let we go and clear this original conversation we got alloy that we heard hey I'm alloy not too loud we got Ekko what's up this is Ekko here we got Shimmer hey there I'm Shimmer soft and steady with a and we got the beity to turn detection then we have three different options here first one being threshold this is the threshold of when it detects like hey someone's talking and then finally silence duration so in a conversation and if I'm talking to you you don't just cut me off you give me like half a second as shown here we also have the ability to call functions this
[04:08] is super cool this is like what we see with Siri coming in Spring if they still are using open AI Tech within the actual iPhone app ecosystem EG hey Siri set an alarm that's calling a function to set an alarm within Apple products then we have standard stuff we' seen with other chat completions such as temperature lower temperature is more consistent outputs higher temperature is a little bit more creative am my start talking about unicorns and rainbows and then finally Max tokens the outputs and inputs the amount of words see said let's see if this thing is a mean Chef we're going to change the voice here to Eko hey Eko I want to talk to you real
[04:40] quick sure I can make a quick stir fry how about I don't want to eat any food right now I just want to talk about something else how about a refreshing dish for later then I can prepare a chilled cucumber all you can talk about is food we can't talk about anything else exactly food is my specialty about don't want to talk about food well if you're not in the mood for food talk now we can discuss another dish later maybe a delightful great all right fair enough okay so there you go followed the rules
[05:12] it just kept bringing up food are you hungry maybe so for anyone wondering how to connect this in an application or a no code automation check out this video right here I'm going to leave in the description down below as you can see from the video we're connecting to the API in a code-like manner I go as far as even providing the code for free in the description down below of this video so make sure to check out that video if you're interested in that context but that concludes today's video so make sure you leave a like is completely free and I'll see you in the next video Eko can you help me complete this video give me an outro what's the best dish to eat
[05:42] on a Saturday night one dish I can prepare for a Saturday night is a rich and flavorful beef Bergen those are two random videos that's my face and I'll see you in the next video
