Let's create apps on our phone anywhere
Transcript β
[00:09] So, we're at a beach club and as you already know with these videos, the challenge is, can I make an app while at a beach club? Let's find out. So, we're going to be heading to a zone pretty soon here at the Atlas Super Club at the pool. Let's do it. You already know how it goes on the phone. All right, so the app we're going to be creating today. I already know my editor is going to have to go overtime for me because of the fact that there is music in the background. But with editing magic, as we know, you won't be able to hear that. We're going to creating an app today that finds us the best beach clubs depending on location. So, let's try it. All right, let me type the Brmpton. So, we're going to do this. We're going to do app that allows me to put in the location in and find the best bleach
[00:41] club and checks the weather cuz weather is fundamentally one of the most important things for a beach club, right? You can't be out here having fun. It's downpouring like crazy. So, we do a modern web app. We're going to start this chat. And here's the best part about this video right here. I actually have a stable internet connection, so we actually be able to get some fast inputs and outputs, unlike my, you know, riding on the motorcycle video if that's come out yet or not. We'll see. We'll see. But for now, we're checking this out. Shout out to the Atlas Club for giving me a nice discounted table here. Big beach club on Changangu Beach here.
[01:11] Pretty nice. Pretty nice. I like it. Let's let Replay do the heavy lifting here cuz as we know, we can code anywhere in the world. I'm literally coding in a pool club. You thought this was impossible? I'm telling you right now, if this was 2002 and you said, "Oh yeah, by the way, well, one, the iPhone exists." That would be crazy. But two, you can actually render an application live on a phone and do it all in some crazy crazy places. Here we go. So, we got Beachbody. I like the name Beach Buddy. BB approved. And as you already know, what's amazing about Replet is we can render the app live in
[01:41] the phone. inje as Yutcha will say Zihande render the app. So here we go. This might actually be a fast video here. We might actually be able to succeed this very fast cuz the fact that internet connection is key. My other video that I did on back of a Go Jack was not fun. That took like 20 minutes, but it was fun. It was fun. But they did take a little bit longer here. So we're going to let AI do its thing here. It's revealing my message and we shall see what it comes out to. So let it go. Let it go. Y'all really thought, "Oh, software engineering jobs are dead because of AI." I don't know. I think
[02:11] one thing that's important about software engineering jobs. Even though you can do crazy stuff like this is understand the logic behind it. Understanding architecture software is still going to be a fundamentally important skill. But coding out very simple apps, very simple landing pages here and there. No coding experience. The fact I can do this on my phone. I don't know where this is going. But all I know is that we're going somewhere. So we'll just keep reviewing considering options here. As we know, we can go ahead and render this. I don't think it's working yet. Oh, we even got a price range right here. Look at this. Amenities pool, restaurant, beach access. I mean, I hope it's a pool. It is a beach club. Minimum rating.
[02:42] Interesting. And then it went ahead and grabbed Miami. Of course, it grabbed Miami. Although, I will say, you know, this is pretty nice compared. I don't know. Like, Miami is up there, but we got more regulations out there, so it's a little bit more constricted. And wa wow. Okay, this went like really far, y'all. You got to love the React UI. The React UI is just modern. It's on point. It knows what it's doing. All right. So, I'm going to let it keep going here because typically what it'll do when creating an app on your phone is that it will render like a nice little front end, but the front end doesn't necessarily work yet. So, we got to make
[03:12] sure we get this working here as we are quite literally making an app out of beach club. You didn't think it was possible. I'm making it possible. I got some crazy videos. You got to understand once I realized you can make apps on your phone and I will leave a video in the description that shows you how to do that. So, you can set it up completely and you can start making apps on your phone. Once I realized you could do that, it just basically unlocked a box in my head. I was just like, "Oh, wait. I want to do some cool ass videos." And that's the purpose of these videos right here. As I've done a ton of educational videos that's like very in-depth, very much inel, but it's time to make apps anywhere. I'm going to make an app scuba
[03:43] diving. I'm going to make an app swimming in the ocean. I'm going to make app surfing. That's the challenge. So, let's keep going here. All right. So, we're installing dependencies. And as you already know these videos, if you haven't seen other videos, check them out. We get that purple little box. We are getting somewhere. We're getting somewhere very good. And especially when it sees the application npm run, which we can't do on the phone, but we can do on the laptop. But as we know, we're an iCloud pace deployment. So, we can do this all on our phone. It's really cool. I think this is definitely something that's underplayed. Obviously, if you know, you know, type situation. But if this is your first time realizing this even exists in the context, you're realizing this exists is a dude in a
[04:14] pool at a beach club, then you can check out the description below. I leave a link to replet. Here we go. Here you go. Get a nice little preview here. We're going to see if it works. And then more importantly, we're going to see if it does things we like it to do, right? Cuz sometimes these can get a little crazy. Especially that 3D app on that motorcycle I was on. It get a little crazy. But let's see. Okay, so we got that purple little box. Let's check it out. We're going to go to the preview here. All right, so we'll do search by location here and let's try changes space. We don't like that. Let me try Bali and we'll see what it does. I mean, we are Okay, we got to let it render a little bit. Let me try again here. We're
[04:45] going to say redeploy the app cuz the UI is just horrible. This I can't even read this UI. Can you read the UI? I can't read the UI. Okay, make the UI dark theme. And then here's what we're going to not the yo. This is the issue with typing one hand, y'all. Is that you got to do too much. Okay, dark theme and add photo for header. And you're like, what photo are you talking about, Corbin? Watch this. For header, I'm getting better. We are optimizing. So, we're going to do attachment here. We're going to say take photo or video and we'll do an atlas here. Boom. Done. Use photo. Upload it to replet. Stop
[05:15] playing with my name. They say you can upload directly. Yep, it's a local file. Hit enter here. We're going to get a nice little attached image onto our new little app here. And on top of that, we're going to get a dark UI so I can actually read it. Maybe that was legible, but my sunglasses are just cooking me right now. But we'll find out. So, we're going to let this render, render, and render. So, we ran into a situation right now to access the data of weather. And our data is in the cloud, but quite literally, what is the cloud telling us? It needs a API key, but I'm hoping it can find a service that doesn't require this. I don't have an API key. Can we find API that does
[05:46] not require one? Because to be honest with y'all, let's be real, when it comes to weather API, I'm pretty sure there's a bunch of open- source like don't need a key, just grab the data type situation. But I could be completely wrong. So, we'll find out if Replic can do this for us or we might have to deprecate the weather feature. We'll find out. Let's get this running. Okay. Okay, we're getting somewhere. It found Open Metro. Metro Booming or Open Meo. Okay, my bad. The The shade is getting my lens. Okay. Open Meo supposedly doesn't require an API key and we can still get weather data. Very fundamental
[06:16] in this kind of app because you don't want to go to a beach club when the weather is no good. No bueno. Need some goods. Let's find out if this actually will work though as we build this on our phone. And would you look at that? Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. So, we'll see if this works. But so far, we got an image that we provided locally on her little phone here to the cloud. And we got a dark UI, which I really like. Now, let's see if this is going to work here. I have no clue. Let's start off easy. We'll do Miami. Let's have some fun here. Dates. You know what? We'll do the 16th. Why not? And search beach clubs. All right, here we go. Oh, no. Okay,
[06:47] unable to locate the weather data. Okay, so the weather's having issue, but we do get Miami Beach Clubs. All right, that's good. We might have to deprecate the weather feature here, sadly. But we do get Miami Beach Clubs. Let's see if Let's try another one here. Let's try like Bali, which is like super general, but I'm curious on how this works. Okay, it doesn't like Bali. Let's see if it like chang. What we might need to do is we might actually need to make like a whole index depending on where we're at, right? Like index the actual data itself. Rather than trying to search here, we just grab the data. So, let's try that. All right,
[07:19] let's update this prompt. We're going to try make it so we know all the beach clubs in Changu and Ulawatu. This might be a situation where we got to create a little storage database in the back end where it's going to actually store relevant little clubs, beach clubs specifically, that we can then search on our app here. And honestly, we might need to deprecate the weather feature. Sadly, sadly, sadly. Let me try this real quick. Bye-bye weather feature. Sometimes you just got to deprecate features. It's just no fun. So, we're going to go ahead and try this again. We're going to index all the relevant clubs, beach clubs in Bali, or at least
[07:50] those two main areas. And then on top of that, we will create a database for it. And then we're going to deprecate the weather and see how it goes. And this will be for the thumbnail. Screenshot that. All right. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Okay. Let's see if this works. Can we successfully create an app at a beach club? We'll find out. So, we're going to put in Changenu here. We'll do July, you know, 16th. Maybe we want to go a little bit further here. And then we will say search beach clubs. And we see down here we got Fins. Nice. Lab Brieza. We got Alice. Where's Alice at? right here. So,
[08:22] it works. We successfully created an app at a beach club on our phone as you already know these style videos. If you feel like you learned something, make sure you leave a like. If you're like, Corbin, what the heck was this? Make sure to subscribe then. Those are two random videos. That is my face. We successfully built an app on our phone. I like it. I'll see you in the next video.
